The European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research
The European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) is a non-profit research organisation dedicated to the coordination of research projects. It aims to support the development of biomedical imaging technologies and the dissemination of knowledge. It was established on the initiative of The European Society of Radiology (ESR) in 2006 and funded by the European Commission within Framework Programme 6. EIBIR’s mission is to improve cooperation within the European biomedical imaging community, with the goal of improving the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The organisation actively supports research networking activities, common initiatives, and interoperability in the field of biomedical imaging research by providing services in proposal writing, project management and taking the lead in dissemination and communication activities.
Peter Gordebeke
Peter Gordebeke graduated with a Master’s degree in Medical Biology from Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands. He has experience in small non-coding RNA and micro RNA research and spent time in the pharmaceutical industry establishing new molecular testing methods, including the validation of critical testing equipment. Since joining EIBIR in 2014, he as been involved in several EU-funded research projects in various capacities, ranging from coordination to project management and leading the communication and dissemination aspects. Peter currently serves as the main coordinator contact for the EUCAIM project (Cancer Image Europe) and the ODELIA project. He is the project manager for the Alternatives To Gd and Med-IPUT projects and shares this role with his colleague Katharina for the HyperProbe project. Peter is the lead communication and dissemination manager for EuCanImage and RadioVal. In addition, Peter lead the data management and collection activities within EIBIR.
Valentina Belmar Erilkin
Valentina joined EIBIR in February 2023 as Junior Project Manager. She has experience in translation, international relations, diplomacy, project management and communication activities. She has a diploma in Translation and Interpreting from Universidad de Concepción and she graduated with a Master’s Joint Degree in Global Studies – A European Perspective from the University of Leipzig and the University of Vienna. Valentina supports in the management and dissemination of EUCAIM and Med-IPUT.
