The Med-IPUT Consortium brings together a multidisciplinary group of leading academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners. Our collective expertise spans ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging, integrated photonics, materials science, and medical devices. TNO (Coordinator) – The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research As the coordinator, TNO leads the project with its extensive experience in research and development. TNO initiated the IPUT technology and focuses on optical, mechanical, and thermal system design, as well as systems engineering of photonic systems. They also collaborate with CITC for packaging design, manufacturing, and electrical assembly of the advanced PIC building blocks.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland VTT contributes its expertise in research and innovation activities for industry and knowledge-based society. They are pioneers in developing Silicon Photonics integrated circuits and provide both R&D services and production services in their Micronova clean room facility.

European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) offers extensive expertise in project coordination and management of large, multinational consortia with common goals in biomedical imaging. They are also experienced in dissemination, communication, and outreach activities in the field of biomedical imaging.

Ligentec specializes in manufacturing Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) for high-tech applications. Their core expertise lies in the domain of Silicon Nitride integrated circuits, where they offer MPW, dedicated and engineering runs using their proprietary All Nitride Core (AN) technology. Ligentec’s technology platform is fully CMOS compatible, enabling scaling up to high volumes.
